Machine security: Manage authorisations centrally

How can users manage individual authorisations for plant and machinery easily and centrally? Experts from Pilz answer questions like these about machinery safety and access authorisation management at the regional trade fairs for industrial automation „all about automation“.

How can users manage individual authorisations for plant and machinery easily and centrally? Experts from Pilz will be answering these and other questions about secure access authorisation management at the regional trade fairs for industrial automation „all about automation“ in Hamburg (25 and 26 January 2023), Friedrichshafen (7 and 8 March 2023) and Heilbronn (10 and 11 May 2023).

At the centre of Pilz's trade fair presence: the digital access authorisation system PITreader with RFID technology, which consists of a readout unit with the corresponding transponder keys. Users receive the machine release customised to their individual task on their RFID transponder. To gain access to a machine or system, they authorise themselves at the safety gate.

If several PITreaders are in use in a company, these are organised with the User Authentication Service (UAS) software tool. This has a central authorisation database and enables the connection between user management software in the company and PITreader. Pilz experts will use the trade fair model to show how administrators can maintain an overview and save time even when using multiple PITreaders.

In Hamburg and Friedrichshafen, speakers from Pilz will also explain how a significant change can be realised during a Retrofits is to be assessed. Interested visitors can find out more, when the operator becomes the manufacturer. This is because an assessment of the measures is specified for the modification of a machine. If this results in a significant change, the machine must be assessed as a new machine in accordance with the Product Safety Act (ProdSG). This means that the requirements for placing on the market (conformity assessment procedure) must be fulfilled.

In Heilbronn, on the other hand, the experts from Pilz answer the question about the most important changes that have occurred due to the new Machinery Ordinance for machine manufacturers and operators arise. The lecture series is free of charge for visitors.
