REA presents modern packaging printing at interpack

REA Elektronik will be presenting an expanded portfolio and new products at interpack in Düsseldorf in May. The REA Jet Up, a piezo-based direct printing system, offers an alternative to glued labels. 

With the REA Jet Up presents REA is presenting a completely newly developed piezo-based direct printing system. Up stands for "Universal Print". This is already an indication that this system can do much more than previous representatives of this type, which only worked on open-pored surfaces such as paper, cardboard and wood. For the Direct printing of high-resolution content on smooth surfaces, such as painted and varnished surfaceshas REA developed and patented innovative ink formulations with high drying speeds. A complete new ink supply as well as classic oil-based inks and UV-curing inks expand the spectrum of the new Up. With a print height of 108.4 mm, a maximum print resolution of 360 dpi (vertical), 1,500 dpi (horizontal), a tripling of the previously known speed potential and an ideal print distance of 3 mm, an impressively innovative system enriches the future of printing. With the high-resolution printing product family REA Jet Hr has REA has had the world's most powerful HP-based printing system on the market for years. A new, extremely high-quality Titan Touch Controller will also be launched at interpack: it is operated entirely via the easy-to-read, 10.1-inch display, without buttons or knobs and solely by touching the screen. Operators can even leave their gloves on when controlling their labelling systems via the modern, tile-based user interface. The new REA Label ColorJet 2 is a compact colour label printer that is a cost-effective alternative for small and medium print volumes and comes in three versions. The basis is the standard model REA Label ColorJet 2S: It prints small and medium quantities of labels individually or in series in full colour with a print width of up to 210 mm and the highest resolution of up to 1,200 dpi. The user can choose between dye ink, pigmented or nanopigmented ink for the label material, from matt paper to high-gloss PET film - depending on the selected ink type. One Printer setup is only required to a limited extentThe labels are automatically fed in, their dimensions read and displayed. 

With the standard model REA Label ColorJet 2S, the label can be removed manually using a tear-off edge, the REA Label ColorJet 2C with circular blade cuts labels individually or after a print job. A unique selling point is the REA Label ColorJet 2P: It can Print and dispense labels 1 to 1 in full colour. The backing paper is rewound by an external rewinder. This system can be used, for example, for Manual workstations or fully automated applications in applicator mode or robot system used can be used. It has a flexible PLC I/O interface.

With its compact design and robust, powder-coated housing, the REA Label ColorJet 2 the right choice for the industrial use in production, logistics, automation and wherever high-quality colour labels need to be available "on demand". The Offline inspection device comes with its own tablet PC and checks the quality of 1D and 2D codes to ensure high first read rates in accordance with international standards, GS1 and other specifications. By maintaining high code quality and eliminating incorrect code content, the REA VeriMax Mobile will make a significant contribution to reducing costs.
