The Leuze Group's Electronics division is celebrating its 60th birthday. Today, more than 1,600 employees worldwide are working on new sensor and safety solutions in automation technology.

The Leuze The company's history does not begin with the birth of its electronics division in 1963, but as far back as the 17th century in Eningen/Achalm near Reutlingen in southern Germany. Years later, when mechanical looms were replacing hand weaving and cotton was increasingly replacing domestic linen, the Leuze family took textile production into their own hands. These origins gave rise to a recognised textile company that has been successfully steered and developed over generations through all the perils of time.

„In 1861, our ancestors found exactly the conditions they needed to set up a mechanical cotton weaving and spinning mill in the Lenningen valley.“
