Berry Global launches NorDiVent Form-Fill-Seal onto the market. The high-performance film is suitable for powdered products. It also contains up to 50 per cent recycled plastic.
NorDiVent's durable and patented technology offers reliable performance. The film is Waterproof and ensures that the air can escape dust-free. It provides effective moisture protection for products that need to be kept dry and allows bags to be stored outdoors. Its high tear resistance provides further product protection and prevents leaks and spillages throughout the supply chain.
Thanks to a variety of options, including antistatic properties, the film is also suitable for the most demanding applications and products. The film can be printed with up to 8 colours to achieve effective branding and maximise shelf presence.
„NorDiVent offers a reliable, long-term dust and moisture-free solution for filling and packaging all types of powdered products such as chemicals and building materials.“

Berry is now launching a range of Sustane premium recycled polymers with a content of up to 50 per cent. The Sustane range includes Polymers made from recycled plastic - made from both post-consumer and pre-consumer plastic. A mixture of both variants is available, allowing customisation to the customer's specific requirements.
„Our ability to incorporate recycled material into NorDiVent is a testament to our technical capabilities and our determination to deliver solutions that meet our customers“ requirements in terms of quality, reliability and sustainability. This is significant as it is important that sustainability goals are promoted, but not at the expense of the overall purpose of a bag, especially as the performance of a bag throughout the supply chain can have a significant impact on its environmental impact. This can play a crucial role in preventing product loss and waste. This has been shown in a recent study by the IFEU Institute for Energy and Environmental Research in Heidelberg (ifeu)."

As part of the ifeu project, a comparative life cycle assessment of alternative packaging systems for building materials and industrial raw materials was carried out. In particular, various paper sacks and FFS polythene sacks were compared.
„The study showed that product losses along the value chain have a significant impact on the environment. If the FFS PE sacks save 0.8 per cent cement in the value chain compared to the paper sack, the results on climate change are in favour of the PE-FFS sacks. For titanium dioxide, this break-even is even lower at 0.2 per cent. NorDiVent's ability to minimise these losses, combined with the integration of Sustane, can lead to a strong overall environmental benefit for all parties involved.“
