Lightweight closure solution for tubes

With the Slimeline, Berry is launching a new range of lightweight closures for tubes in the personal care and pharmaceutical sectors.

Berry is launching a new, lightweight closure for tubes in the personal care and pharmaceutical sectors. The Slimline range includes tube closures that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions in a variety of designs and materials.

The new Slimline range, which complements Berry's range of tube closures, saves greenhouse gases compared to conventional closures thanks to a new, lightweight and flat design one. As one of the lightest solutions currently available on the market, the closures fulfil the performance requirements of customers and underline the commitment of Berry, to minimise the use of new plastic.

The closures will be available in diameters of 35 mm and 50 mm, each with a matt and glossy surface and with 3 mm and 5 mm openings. The closures can be made from untreated polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) or made of food-safe, recycled plastic (rPE and rPP) from CleanStream, Berry's internal, closed-loop recycling process. These options allow brand owners to match cap and tube materials to create a Create single-material packaging that facilitates recycling.

„The tube market is currently experiencing a faster pace of change as companies continue to look for more sustainable packaging formats without compromising on aesthetics or performance.“
