The new performance levels for injection vials, syringes, cartridges and ampoules from Gerresheimer make it possible to choose between the three performance levels Gx Value, Gx Advance and Gx Elite within the respective product category. The new structure simplifies the selection of the right product platform according to the requirements of the active pharmaceutical ingredient or the area of application.
By dividing the product portfolio into the three performance levels Gx Value, Gx Advance and Gx Elite, Gerresheimer has standardised the product platforms for bulk and pre-sterilised ready-to-fill primary packaging. This enables customers to quickly find the right product for their application. The portfolio includes syringes, cartridges, ampoules and injection vials for the entire spectrum of pharmaceutical applications in human and veterinary medicine including solutions for novel biopharmaceuticals in the field of cell and gene therapy. Gx Elite products offer maximum performance and are particularly suitable for innovative biopharmaceutical drugs.

Gx Value: Proven products in pharmaceutical quality
The Gx Value product line for injection vials, syringes, ampoules and cartridges includes pharmaceutical quality products made of type I borosilicate glass. Proven millions of times over, they entry into the Gerresheimer product world represent. Gx Value products fulfil all qualitative, regulatory and technical requirements. Gerresheimer produces them worldwide for the respective regional markets. Local production facilities ensure high availability and fast delivery. Gx Value solutions are used for a wide range of pharmaceuticals such as anti-coagulants or anaesthetics.
Gx Advance: Greater efficiency in the fill & finish process
Gx Advance injection vials, syringes, ampoules and cartridges offer all the features of Gx Value plus enhanced product functionalities that enable more efficient filling, among other things. These include tighter tolerances, reduced glass-to-glass and glass-to-metal contact and a higher surface quality. This enables an efficient filling process that can reduce process costs. Gx Advance syringes and Gx Advance cartridges are also optionally available as ready-to-fill (RTF) products. Gx Advance solutions are typically used in large-scale industrial production, for example for vaccines or active ingredients in diabetes therapy such as insulin or GLP-1.
Gx Elite: Highest performance and best protection for sensitive medicines
Gx Elite injection vials, syringes and cartridges offer all the advantages of the Gx Advance level while at the same time significantly higher breakage resistance, precisely maintained tolerances and maximum surface quality.t. This ensures a highly efficient and safe filling process and the best possible protection of the medicines. These product properties are achieved through a special material-friendly manufacturing process without glass-to-glass contact and minimised glass-to-metal contact. Gx Elite products are ideal for pharmaceuticals with special requirements, including biopharmaceuticals such as mRNA active ingredients, gene therapeutics or applications in ophthalmology.
Ready-to-fill with environmentally friendly sterilisation
All Gx Elite products are Also available pre-sterilised as a ready-to-fill (RTF) version. Gerresheimer offers the EZ-fill or EZ-fill Smart packaging platforms for this purpose. For the first time, hydrogen peroxide sterilisation (VHP = Vapourized Hydrogen Peroxide) will also be available for the EZ-fill Smart packaging platform. This environmentally friendly and resource-saving method does not use any toxic substances and fulfils the strictest requirements of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
All injection vials, syringes, cartridges and ampoules in the GX Value, Advance and Elite performance levels are also available as a complete system with matching components. This includes A wide variety of closure solutions as well as numerous rubber components and integrated needle protection systems for prefillable syringes. Some products are also available in special versions, such as silicone oil-free prefillable syringes.
