Packaging machine manufacturer Optima has appointed Dr Stefan König as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He takes over the role from Hans Bühler, Managing Partner, who is moving to the position of Chairman.
In April 2024, Hans Bühler handed over the title of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to Dr Stefan König, who has been with the company as Managing Director since 2021. König brings with him over 25 years of experience in various areas of mechanical engineering. Most recently, he was CEO of the former Bosch Packaging Technology GmbH.
„Dr Stefan König combines a wealth of experience in mechanical engineering with a pragmatic approach. He will thus help to further advance Optima and establish us as a partner for increasingly demanding projects. His expertise and his high standards for results will help to lead the group of companies successfully into the future.“
Hans Bühler
Bühler himself, who was Spokesman of the Management Board for over 35 years, will focus on future issues, strategic decisions and the shareholder group as Chairman of the four-member Management Board.
„Hans Bühler has made Optima what it is today. I am delighted to be able to continue the company's 100-year success story. We are active in highly attractive industries, have broad process and technology expertise and experienced, committed employees - in other words, the best prerequisites for making effective contributions to the success of our customers.“
Stefan König
As CEO, König will coordinate the management and take and implement initiatives and decisions to achieve targets. He shares responsibility with Dr Johannes-Thomas Grobe for the four business units Pharma, Consumer, Nonwovens and Life Science, including the Hydrogen Economy, as well as the cross-company topics of digitalisation, sustainability and marketing. Central units such as Human Resources and Finance will be managed by Jan Glass. He will hand over his position to his designated successor Marco Beyl in the course of the year.
