Metsä Group has launched the pre-commercial sale of its Muoto packaging solution. This packaging is made from wood fibres and offers a recyclable, sustainable alternative to plastic products.
Muoto products are robust and suitable for a wide range of applications, including food and takeaway packaging. Pilot customers have immediate access to test the Packaging testing and feedback to give. Muoto packaging has been produced in a demonstration plant in Äänekoski, Finland, since May 2022. The pre-commercial sale marks an important milestone for the Metsä Group, which is considering a possible investment in a commercial production plant if the project is successful.
The Muoto production process is characterised by a efficient use of resources out. Thanks to the innovative technology, only a minimal amount of water and energy is required, which makes the production process sustainable and environmentally friendly.
