tesa developed one new Packaging tape with Carrier material from recycledPost-consumer PET. The tape is ideal for light and medium-weight packaging up to 30 kg.

The new adhesive tape consists of a backing made from 70 per cent recycled (PCR) PET and a water-based acrylic adhesive system. tesa is thus expanding its product portfolio of high-performance packaging tapes that are made from recycled materials and bio-based raw materials.

The manufacturer sees its tesa 60412 is an alternative to the commonly used packaging tapes made of polyvinyl chloride. tesa names the food and beverage industry, the pharmaceutical industry and the logistics sector as potential users.

Adhesive tape is particularly quiet

With its high tear resistance, tesa 60412 is equivalent to PVC or biaxially orientated polypropylene (BOPP) tapes. The tape is suitable for both manual and automatic dispensers and is as quiet as possible during use. The packaging tape is certified according to INGEDE method 12 and can be disposed of together with the packaging in waste paper without jeopardising the cardboard recycling process.
