Alfa Laval: Filling bag-in-box packaging more dynamically

The latest model in the „Astepo“ series from the Swedish Alfa Laval Group is more dynamic and has shorter filling cycles. The „Astepo High Speed Low Acid Bag-in-Box Filler“ with the abbreviation „HS-LA“ is equipped with servomotors that control the aseptic filling head and the bag feed.

The Astepo-HS-LA machine filled Bag-in-box packaging for acidic products with a pH value below 4.5 as well as low acidic products with a pH value above 4.5. These can be fruit juices, soft drinks and juice concentrates, but also purees, ice cream mixes or dairy products.

Great value has Alfa Laval The hygiene standards of the new machine were a top priority. All parts in contact with the product are made of Stainless steel AISI 316 manufactured. The filling valve is EHDGE-certified. The entire machine complies with FDA regulations.

The filling head and surfaces in contact with the product are sterilised with steam. Steam is also used, but nitrogen peroxide is also used in the Sterilisation tunnel through which the caps are guided before they enter the filling head. All moving parts are protected by monitored vapour barriers. A compressed air unit is integrated into the machine frame.

Display

Sterile filling Bag sizes with capacities from three to 25 litres. Up to 500 ten-litre bags per hour can be processed. Alfa Laval emphasises the quick changeover capability of the machine. It is possible to switch between different caps and bag volumes within a short space of time. Everything is controlled and monitored by a PLC control system with touchscreen operation.
