
The Alpla Group is strengthening its commitment to the UK market with the acquisition of the packaging company iTEC Packaging (Mansfield). The plant specialises in the production of closures, primarily for the dairy industry, but also for the food and beverage sector.
With the acquisition of the business activities of iTEC Packaging (Mansfield), the global packaging and recycling specialist Alpla is expanding its expertise as a packaging system provider in the UK market.

With the takeover, Alpla is also the use of post-consumer recycled material (PCR) in the closure area and thus realises system solutions with a high recycled content. The company is thus building on its pioneering work in the processing of recycled HDPE (rHDPE) for the ultra-light „Eco-Bottle“. The packaging can be up to 40 per cent made of food-safe rHDPE exist. Further developments are expected to increase this share in the coming years.
The integration of the former iTEC Packaging plant (Mansfield) ensures an expansion of capacity and product range and at the same time secures jobs at the site. All of the staff will be taken on.
The takeover was contractually agreed on 26 May 2023. The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms and conditions.
