APS is known

At this year's LogiMAT in Stuttgart, Automated Packaging System will be demonstrating a new way of counting small packaged parts simply and cost-effectively, yet with high precision.

The combination of the company's packaging machines and the „Nitpicker“ from the Westphalian company Ing-D.B. GmbH makes it possible. A combination of Nitpicker and the APS PS 125 packaging machine will be on show. The system offers an innovative alternative to counting scales. The parts to be counted are distributed on an A3 illuminated plate. It is part of a combination of specialised software, a mini PC (Windows), a 15.6“ touchscreen and an external industrial camera.

Quick and easy to configure

The system calculates the size of small groups and determines the total number of pieces. Large quantities can be counted in several steps using a memory function. Even overlapping parts are counted exactly. The Configuration process is quick and easy to perform. The weight of the parts has no influence on the counting result.

The use of an interchangeable lens means that small parts can also be counted which, in one dimension, are only the Fraction of a millimetre have. The downstream APS packaging machine packs the defined number of items Semi-automatic or fully automatic in matching printed or neutral Autobag bags. APS offers a variety of bag formats with a wide range of protective and film properties.
