For 40 years, Bobst has been working on innovations in automatic punching presses with smooth machine operation and high production speeds.

Bobst has been working on innovations in automatic die-cutting machines for 40 years and continues to impress with smooth machine operation and high production speeds. To celebrate the anniversary of flatbed die-cutters, the company invited customers to a party at the Competence Centre Mex in Switzerland.

„Often copied, but never equalled,“ is how Marco Lideo, Head of Product Line Die Cutter Stampers, Flexo, Litho Lam, characterises the platen system with camshaft drive that Patent applied for in 1982 and presented at drupa was developed. The system developed by inventor and engineer Georges Polic is still one of the most important innovations in punching technology 40 years later.

These Technology for the platen of the automatic punching press - the car circuit board was also developed by Bobst was invented and came onto the market in 1940 - was used in more and more models as the portfolio was further developed. Customers benefited from the smoother machine operation and higher production speeds that this invention made possible. The first machine type SP 102-CE achieved a record output of 10,000 sheets per hour.
