Automation and Laser 2023 at one trade fair

This year's automatica in Munich got off to a successful start on 21 June. This year's automatica in Munich got off to a successful start on 21 June. Right at the start, there was some big news: the automation trade fair will take place again in 2023 - in parallel with Laser World of Photonics, the world's leading trade fair for photonics components, systems and applications.

Big surprise from Munich: The automatica will be launched again next year. Reason for the changeover: The trade fair is changing its rhythm and will therefore be organised in parallel with Laser World of Photonics in future. Both world-leading trade fairs will take place for the first time in June 2023, from 27 to 30 June, and then every two years at the same time and under one roof.

Win-win situation

Reinhard Pfeiffer, Managing Director of Messe München: "As manufacturing generalists, both Laser and automatica offer solutions for all industries. And there are overlaps that can be expanded. Exhibitors and visitors to both leading trade fairs will therefore be able to create added value in future and thus make their trade fair presence even more valuable."

The decision is all the more logical, as the exhibition spectra of automatica and Laser World of Photonics are an ideal matchLasers for welding, cutting, marking and detection have become an integral part of highly automated production lines. And what would robotics be without optical and laser-based image processing? At the same time, many laser applications only realise their economic strength when combined with robots.

This results in a win-win situation for both trade fairs: an expansion of the product range, an improved cost-benefit effect for exhibitors and visitors as well as increased attention and attractiveness for the combination of two strong leading trade fairs focussing on future-oriented trend technologies.
