Baumer hhs is promoting the smartphone app „GlueCalc“ as a world first. It supports packaging manufacturers in calculating and optimising adhesive consumption in their production lines on an order-related basis. As a special feature, the programme calculates significant adhesive savings and the associated reduction in CO2-emissions.
The purpose of the app, which is available for Android smartphones and iPhones, is to provide the required Adhesive quantities and the associated costs for a particular Packaging can be calculated. In particular, it shows how much adhesive is required if it is applied as a bead or if it is applied in dots. Baumer hhs reports that by switching to adhesive dots, consumption can be reduced by half or even more.

GlueCalc but still provides information, the Krefeld-based company explains. The results are displayed in the form of tables and graphs. The calculations can also be forwarded from the app as an e-mail.
