Saving resources with new packaging solutions

Baumer hhs will use live demonstrations to show applications in energy- and resource-saving adhesive application. On the one hand, interested visitors will see the application of bio-based adhesives with Xmelt Bio. Secondly, the company will be demonstrating the application of low-temperature hot melt adhesives with Xmelt. Rethinking adhesive application is also the philosophy behind sustainable adhesives. In Düsseldorf, the aim is to illustrate the importance of bio-based adhesives in this context.

Another focus of Baumer hhs are Intelligent solutions for securing pallets in the final packaging, using pressure-sensitive adhesive instead of shrink film (image). They reduce film consumption and therefore waste in logistics processes. This works by applying the adhesive to the transport packaging as a spray application, which securely fixes all layers of packaging to the pallets.

Another focus is on Solutions for the application of pressure-sensitive adhesives in the production of e-commerce packaging. The systems specially developed for these applications cover a very wide range of requirements: from extremely even adhesive application on strong corrugated cardboard to paper-based lightweight packaging and mailing bags made of folding boxboard or microwave, where both material consumption and transport volume are minimised.
