The BDE has a new name. As the members have now unanimously decided, the association is now called BDE Bundesverband der Deutschen Entsorgungs-, Wasser- und Kreislaufwirtschaft e.V. (Federal Association of the German Waste, Water and Recycling Industry).

The association members approved the renaming at their meeting in Munich on 1 June. unanimously decided within the framework of IFAT Munich 2022 and initiated the necessary amendment to the Articles of Association.

BDE-President Peter Kurth explains: „The association remains committed to representing the interests of the entire waste management industry. However, with the change of name we want to also open up to companies that are not active in waste disposal, but are committed to the circular economy with their business models. In future, the association will work for all companies that are endeavouring to work on instruments for better recycling and thus want to close the loop for as many material flows as possible. Companies that see this as their future are in the BDE welcome. We look forward to developing together. You meets the requirements of the circular economy and serves the practical transformation of the economy.“
