The manufacturer of weighing, cutting and labelling technology Bizerba is pleased to report global sales of 675 million euros. The result for the 2018 financial year follows on from the record revenue of the previous financial year, according to the family-owned company from Balingen. According to Bizerba, the company employs 4,146 people.
According to the press release, sales were driven by other European countries. 45 per cent of the Total salesit was generated there. In total, 68 per cent of sales were generated abroad - three per cent more than in 2017. 217 million euros were generated in Germany, writes Bizerba.
According to Bizerba, the drivers of success are the core areas Weighing technology, cutting and labelling technology. However, the Digital Services and Sensor Technology divisions as well as the company's various financing offers also made an important contribution.
Further innovations to be announced
The once again strong result in the Financial year 2018 confirms our path of growth through innovation,“ comments Andreas Kraut, CEO and shareholder of Bizerba, commented on the business development in the company's press release and added: „We will continue to expand our product portfolio in the future through innovative Hardware and software solutions and comprehensive digital service offerings. Promising partnerships also enable us to tap into new business areas. New developments such as the world's first affordable ‘Loss Prevention System“ for the retail sector and SmartShelf, an intelligent shelf developed in cooperation with Microsoft, lay the foundations for further growth in the AI market."
Over the next three years, Bizerba plans to invest in the following locations Balingen and Meßkirch. 15 million euros have been earmarked for this purpose. For example, a new logistics centre for spare parts logistics is to be built in Balingen.
