Bluhm Systeme is a „true 68er“. At the end of August 2018, the Rheinbreitbach-based company founded by Eckhard Bluhm celebrated its 50th anniversary. Over 400 guests from Germany and abroad joined in the celebrations and congratulated the company on its anniversary.
The Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate was also a guest, Dr Volker Wissing. „Bluhm Systems stands in the good tradition of our important family-run businesses. Firmly rooted in the region, the company has provided high-quality jobs over the past 50 years and made a significant contribution to the development of prosperity,“ praised the Minister in his welcome address. Also among the well-wishers was Doug Weber, CEO of the US company Weber Packaging Solutions. Bluhm Systeme founded the joint venture with Weber in 1980. Weber Marking Systems GmbH was founded. „My grandfather, father and I can consider ourselves lucky that we were and are allowed to accompany Bluhm,“ said Weber.

Bluhm sons look to the future
The three sons of the company founder gave an outlook on the coming years: Volker Bluhm, authorised signatory of Bluhm Systeme GmbH, reported on the future of the company. Expansion plans and the construction of a new building at the Rheinbreitbach headquarters. Carsten Bluhm, Sales Manager of the Laser division, looked at product development. The official ceremony was followed by a party on the company premises the next day. Well over 1,000 guests - including employees and their families as well as guests from the region - took part in the festivities. Factory tours, enjoyed numerous children's attractions and savoured the street food festival. The event concluded with an evening event especially for employees and their families.
In 1968, Eckhard Bluhm set up his own company for labelling technology, Bluhm & Co. This was based on the distribution rights of the US company Weber Inc. from Chicago. Since 1980, there has also been the financing company Bluhm Leasing & Co. KG, which is financially supported by the employees. This gives customers the opportunity to finance objects of purchase. The group of companies maintains several subsidiaries and actively operates an international partner sales network. The range of consulting services covers all labelling technologies, including lasers.
