Labels from Bluhm Systeme won the DFTA Awards 2022 in the Labels category. The print quality and handling of labels for premium onions produced using UV flexographic printing were particularly impressive.
The DFTA Award for innovative achievements in flexographic printing is awarded every two years. The submissions are evaluated according to binding Criteria such as innovation, market novelty, print quality and environmental aspects. Bluhm Systems was able to score points above all with print quality and handling. The label was produced in the in-house print shop using UV flexographic printing and was intended to visually emphasise the vegetable quality of "Obstkultur Kasinger" Burgkirchen. The requirements were Multicoloured, non-gummed labels in various sizes and layoutsto which further information is subsequently added by thermal transfer printing.
"A high-quality label is more than just an attractive eye-catcher. It is a clear competitive advantage that reflects a company's high standards for itself and its own product. These are the same criteria that we apply to our labelling solutions. We are therefore delighted to receive this award."
Volker Bluhm, Member of the Management Board

Designation of origin, weight and variety are added during operation with a Zebra ZT 230 thermal transfer printer.
The idea and design for "Onions from our own cultivation" came from the advertising agency "Prodesign" in Freilassing. Together with Bluhm Systeme, the advertising agency was able to realise the desired concept for "Obstkultur Kasinger" and now provides the customer with Everything from a single source.
