With mapp Cockpit, B&R presents an easy-to-use tool for commissioning and diagnosing machines. It can be operated at the touch of a button without any additional programming effort.

The technical basis for the new tool is formed by standard web technologies and OPC UA (Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture). The information between mapp Cockpit and the automation project is transmitted via the manufacturer-independent communication protocol OPC UA transferred. The user interface is web-based. This makes diagnostics with the new tool and a B&R automation system very flexible. At the same time, it conforms to an established standard.

Individual application possibilities of mapp Cockpit

For example, axes or axis groups can be operated directly in the clearly organised mapp Cockpit interface. The commands of the components, which are otherwise available in the form of function blocks, are executed simply by pressing a button. The behaviour of the components can be configured in the Watch live where all relevant values are displayed graphically. The additional installation of an analysis tool is no longer necessary.
