Branding and sustainability with reusable displays

Standardisation, individual branding and sustainability come together in the Loopos The Reusables reusable displays from Packservice.

At the point of sale, it is particularly important that products attract attention and encourage purchases. Sustainability is also increasingly becoming a sales argument, but how can attractiveness and sustainability be combined in reusable solutions and especially reusable displays? Standardisation and individual branding are brought together by the reusable displays Loopos The Reusables from Packservice.

Loopos stands for more circular economy (Loop) at the point of sale (PoS) and therefore also for more sustainability. Because those who reusable displays saves CO2 - including production and recycling. This is confirmed by a study conducted by pulswerk GmbH, the consulting company of the Austrian Institute of Ecology. On average, for every 100 Loopos reusable displays, 612 kilograms of CO2 can be saved. To achieve this amount of CO2 an average beech tree would need around 50 years to grow.

Individual branding despite standardisation

Reusable also always means that a certain Standardisation must take place. This brings with it an advantage and a supposed disadvantage. The advantage: The Design and assembly are always the same and therefore simpler off. The disadvantage: standardisation also reduces the possibility of creating an individual brand experience and a unique look to showcase the secondary placement.

Co-packing specialist Packing service and the pooling service providers HB RTS have been working on Loopos The Reusables and not only developed solutions for customisability. The result is a system that is suitable for the circular economy due to its properties and operational implementation and at the same time offers marketing all the possibilities to Customised and eye-catching branding. But it doesn't just showcase products, reduce packaging waste and thus CO2-emissions, it also ensures safer transport because the system is very stable. And what is delivered intact to the retailer does not have to be sent back.

Loopos The Reusables now offers the Packservice Group together with HB RTS as a complete service that includes packaging, warehouse delivery and return of the reusable display. includes. The first campaigns have already been successfully implemented in Austrian retailers. „We approached the food retailer and announced that we wanted to use the sustainable Loopos reusable display. The initial reaction was somewhat sceptical, but when the delivery, set-up and collection went so smoothly, they were so satisfied that we only received good feedback,“ reports Tina Kirisits, Marketing Manager at Gemeos, about the first promotions for her brands Caffé Gemelli and Alpenbrezl and explains why she opted for the reusable displays: „What I particularly like are the design options. Loopos makes it possible to place everything that the brand should say and what you want to convey in terms of product messages on the display.“ Paul Fuchs from Bodengraf is also convinced after the display campaign for the organic brand IXSO: „I am just as enthusiastic about the product as I am about the partners who are passionate about it, and I was also pleasantly surprised by the price compared to our disposable displays.“

The new reusable solution was presented to the press and an invited audience of experts for the first time at the kick-off event in Austria in March with a keynote speech entitled „Mehr Mehr Mehrweg wagen“ (Dare to use more reusables) by Dr Jens Oldenburg from the Stiftung Initiative Mehrweg foundation. The participants included interested parties and experts from retail, the FMCG industry, logistics, marketing and sustainability, who responded positively. The main reason for this was that Reusable, simple processes and customisable displays finally compatible are. This enables brand manufacturers to operate more sustainably, without sacrificing authenticity and visibility.

When the sustainable Loopos reusable display was honoured with the Smart Packaging 2020 national award, it was described as an „innovative concept with enormous potential“. „Environmental protection demands new forms and alternatives to the conventional everywhere. This also applies to retail, industry and logistics. There is a lot of potential in the entire supply chain and Loopos The Reusables is at the beginning. It took some time for the idea of presenting goods in secondary placement in reusable displays to become a really convincing product. But the time was well invested and the presentation of the new reusable system was a complete success. This makes me optimistic that Loopos will gain a firm place in the market,“ explains Joachim Kratschmayr, Managing Director of Packservice Austria.
