Camera-based inline inspection systems at the K 2022

At K 2022, Isra Vision will be showcasing camera-based inline inspection systems that enable companies to increase yields and reduce costs.

At K 2022, Isra Vision will be showcasing camera-based inline inspection systems that enable companies to increase their profits and reduce costs. Among other things, a combined solution for inspecting unprinted and printed web material will be on display at the stand.

„Today, users of the new ISRA generation of optical inspection systems not only receive comprehensive information in real time about the condition of their products during production, but also have the real advantage of accelerating the ramp-up of production, reducing costs and simplifying the operation of these highly technical systems. ISRA thus creates the basis for deriving measures from the generated data without delay to ensure that even the smallest defects are found and the strictest quality criteria are met.“

Dirk Broichhausen, Managing Director and Group Vice President of the Surface & Print Inspection - Advanced Materials business unit at Isra Vision

DualStar is a new system that Workflow in the production and finishing of flexible packaging further optimised. Thanks to the ability to switch between ‚surface‘ and ‚print‘ inspection depending on the job, it is the only solution in the world to date that combines the inspection of unprinted films, laminates and coatings as well as printed material in a single system. This saves the converter or laminator considerable investment costs, as they only have to choose one system.

The ‚surface inspection‘ component takes over the Automatic detection and classification of all relevant defects in the production of unprinted, transparent, opaque, coloured and translucent web material. The DualStar continuously checks the quality of the printed image, lamination and coating on printed goods. This system thus ensures Process optimisation along the entire value chain. Thanks to the 100 per cent inline inspection, the user benefits in terms of quality and costs.

Under the name ‚Cloud Xperience‘, the company offers an innovative software platform that enables the Advantages of a cloud combined with intelligent analysis tools. It takes over the centralised storage of data and also enables continuous condition monitoring of production processes and inspection systems. With the help of a self-learning cluster function based on artificial intelligence (AI) for defect classification, image data can be collected, stored, sorted and then automatically classified in the cloud.

This automated processing allows fault patterns to be differentiated and classified more quickly and reliably. This simplifies the setup of the system and can reduce the time required to start up production. In addition, the data stored in the cloud is available to all authorised users, e.g. on other production lines or at other company locations.
