At Schreiner Group's headquarters in Oberschleissheim, seven heat pumps are replacing the previous gas heating system. Four of them will be installed in the company's new heat pump building and will eliminate the need for oil and gas.

Helmut Schreiner and his son Roland Schreiner, managing partner of the Schreiner Group, The building was officially opened last Friday in the presence of guests of honour, Florian Hahn, Member of the Bundestag, and Markus Böck, Mayor of Oberschleißheim. Starting signal for a new era of sustainability at Schreiner opened.

While most of them are quite small and are only installed in single-family homes, the huge heat pumps at the Group's headquarters heat and cool six large production and office buildings, where around 1,000 employees work. So that the company itself already emits no CO2 more from. Florian Hahn, Member of the Bundestag for the district of Munich, Markus Böck, Mayor of Oberschleissheim, Roland Schreiner, Managing Partner, and Helmut Schreiner, Senior Partner, all agreed: „Schreiner Group's new geothermal project is a milestone for sustainability.“ Together, the four of them symbolically cut the red ribbon to open the new heat pump house at the headquarters.

„It is always impressive to see how a globally active, family-run company from the local area looks to the future, recognises opportunities and implements them with flying colours. Schreiner Group once again adds to the picture that the district of Munich is rich in active and innovative companies and can truly see itself as a region for sustainability and energy diversity.“

And Oberschleissheim's Mayor Markus Böck adds: „One small step for Schreiner Group, one big step for the energy transition in Oberschleissheim! I'm delighted about this pioneering and sustainable project by Schreiner Group, for which I offer my warmest congratulations!“

The Group has been committed to sustainability for several decades. The use of green electricity, photovoltaic systems on the company premises, sustainable product developments and recycling are a matter of course for them. Since the 1990s, the company has been using Groundwater for cooling and, since 2012, also for heating new buildings. With the new geothermal project costing almost six million euros, Schreiner Group has taken a major step forward and built a heat pump house that houses four heat pumps. Three others were decentralised in different buildings installed to replace gas heating systems.

Senior partner Helmut Schreiner, who had managed the company for almost forty years, had set the company on the path to sustainability: „I am pleased to see that we have always remained true to the path we have taken. With the heat pump project, we are not only improving CO2-balance sheet, but above all remain true to our principle of taking responsibility for society and the environment.“

„We have adopted a strategic sustainability target for 2021. We want to be completely climate-neutral in just six years. The heat pump project brings us a huge step closer to this goal. This is because we are already emitting no CO2 more.“
