Thimm has developed climate-neutral shipping packaging in F-flute corrugated cardboard for the Madeleine fashion label. In cooperation with ClimatePartner, the packaging manufacturer supports its customers in offsetting CO2e emissions.
Thimm develops packaging solutions that are optimised in terms of resources and material consumption and produced in an environmentally friendly way. „Nevertheless, unavoidable CO2e emissions are generated from the production of packaging and displays through to delivery,“ explains Michael Weber, Head of Corporate Strategy + Marketing at Thimm. Thimm Group the status. „We check every CO2e source, and are constantly expanding our technical expertise in these areas.“
In order to produce climate-neutral packaging despite this, Thimm offers its customers, in collaboration with ClimatePartner, the Compensation for unavoidable CO2e emissions and therefore climate-neutral packaging. These emissions can be offset by investing in certified climate protection projects, such as reforestation projects or renewable energy projects.
Climate-neutral packaging portfolio for Madeleine
„Retailers can use sustainable and climate-neutral packaging to demonstrate their own sustainable and environmentally conscious behaviour and thus strengthen customer loyalty. Environmentally conscious end consumers consciously recognise sustainable packaging and associate this positively with the brand“, summarises Weber.
The Madeleine fashion label, for example, also relies on the Thimm optimised, climate-neutral offset packaging portfolio: Thimm produces the packaging in F-flute corrugation and in a total of six different sizes. „F-flute corrugated cardboard has similar properties to solid board, but the material stability is the same with significantly less material used,“ explains Weber. The packaging is shipped flat. Due to the low material thickness of the F-flute corrugated board and the optimisation for seamless pallet shipping, there is also less volume utilisation of the lorries. This also makes it possible to reduce emissions in the logistics sector.
Visually, the use of brown paper emphasises the sustainability aspect. The shipping boxes are printed and can be erected at lightning speed thanks to the six-point gluing, using Flexo-High Quality Postprint (HQPP) in white colour. In addition to the retailer logo and packaging labels, there is also a reference to climate-neutral packaging by ClimatePartner and a QR code printed on the packaging, which end consumers can use to obtain transparent information about the supported climate project.
