
Walki is cooperating with The Paper Lid Company to produce recyclable and printable paper lids. The company has invested in the Finnish start-up. Walki is now providing support with material processing to expand production volumes.
End users of hot and cold cup lids are looking for alternatives to replace plastic lids. The Paper Lid Company (TPLC) has developed a Process developed for the production of high-quality recyclable paper lids. The developed lid sits firmly on the cup, has a pleasant feel and can be can be custom-printed and is more cost-effective than plastic alternatives. The raw material for the lids is produced using a dispersion coating technology that makes the lid recyclable in the paper waste stream.
Walkis Start-up investment initiative Walki Ventures has invested in TPLC and has Strategic partnership concluded, to support TPLC in realising the growth plan that the founders have drawn up. The company will support TPLC in several areas, including the Development of recyclable raw material for the lids and printing services for customised and single-colour printed lids. TPLC will also become a member of the Walki research and development community, helping the company to communicate the benefits of sustainability to its customers in a fact-based way.
