The Optima Group has agreed a development partnership with the technology group Voith from Heidenheim an der Brenz at the end of 2020. The aim of the partnership is to develop sustainable paper packaging solutions.
The two companies see their cooperation as the first collaboration of its kind between two companies from different stages of the value chain. Together, they want to develop environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic packaging.
Optima engineers are currently realising projects with paper packaging. This is possible, for example, with the OPTIMA OSR packaging machine for toilet paper rolls shown here. Systems like this can be flexibly converted from film to paper packaging. Optima machines work with classic paper and no coatings are required for this packaging. (Image: Optima)
The Voith Group has been operating a systematic sustainability management system for many years and reports on its successes in a sustainability report. Thanks to its continuous innovative strength, the Group Division Voith Paper enables resource-saving paper production and supports customers in reducing their water, fibre and energy consumption.
„Voith and Optima share a similar corporate DNA and we are convinced that greater sustainability can often only be achieved through cooperation across the entire value chain“

Together, the two partners are looking for the best solutions for the future. „We see untapped potential for paper packaging in many areas and look forward to working closely with Voith,“ says Bröllochs.
