Recycling in harmony with high packaging performance

With continuous investment in research and development, the packaging company Constantia Flexibles is constantly launching new, sustainable product lines on the market in the spirit of the circular economy. In addition to its established Ecolutions product line, the company is presenting innovative new products such as the CompresSeal Solution and Perpetua Alta from the Pharma Division. Customised and recyclable packaging solutions support customers in bringing more sustainable products to the market.

With the EcoPressoLid capsule lid from Constantia Flexibles more sustainable coffee consumption is possible: it is Compostable, bio-based and ideal for sealing the top and bottom of compostable coffee capsules. The EN13432-certified material was awarded „OK Compost Industrial“ by TÜV Austria in 2022 and impresses with its high oxygen barrier and excellent performance during the brewing process.

Together with the Dutch film manufacturer Plasthill B.V., the company has developed the CompresSeal technology, which is based on an innovative micro-embossing technique. The embossing pattern makes it possible to reduce the basis weight of polyolefin sealing films by up to 30 per cent while maintaining the same packaging thickness. This reduces the CO2 footprint and the consumption of packaging and raw materials.

The Pharma Division of Constantia Flexibles is also presenting a new solution. The recyclable monomaterial solution Perpetua Alta, which is based on polypropylene (PP), features a High chemical resistance to pharmaceutical products on. Its unique selling point is the combination of sustainability and resistance, as well as its lower weight and higher efficiency. Compared to conventional laminates, it combines these properties with optimum protection against oxygen, water vapour and light.
