Depalletising with multifunctional gripper

Trapo offers special palletising solutions for aerosol cans and will be exhibiting its robot depalletiser with multifunctional gripper at Fachpack.

Trapo offers special palletising solutions for aerosol cans in various formats. At Fachpack in Nuremberg, the company will be presenting its robot depalletising system with multifunctional gripper, among other things.

As a full-line provider, the Trapo-portfolio offers reliable solutions for the individual needs of the packaging industry. Grippers are increasingly being developed for handling multiple products, sometimes simultaneously and also take over tasks from their periphery. They grip workpieces of different sizes and geometries and are used in fully automated robot applications as well as in collaborative assistance robots. Developed in the company's technical centre, they are tested in the neighbouring assembly hall.

Depalletising for different formats

At Fachpack, the company will be presenting the centrepiece of a current High-performance depalletising station for the cosmetics industry before. Aerosol cans with a capacity of 35 to 250 ml are flexibly depalletised from trays with different dimensions. The challenge is the low stability of the slim, lightweight cans - with a high risk of tipping when gripping, transporting and separating. The automated system has already been ordered five times by customers.

The robot depalletiser was equipped with a Complex multifunctional gripper which enables a sensor-monitored measuring run of the multifunctional gripper over the tray. The gripper is also equipped with a suction cup. It ensures that the cans are sucked up when they are removed from the full pallet and placed safely on the moving modular belt. The gripper is equipped with a side-sensing vacuum suction cup for the safe pick-up and separate discharge of the layer pad/cardboard trays. Devices equipped with suction cups at the front enable handling at the separating device and compression of the layer pad stack.
