A wide range of green packaging solutions

At the Greener Manufacturing Show and the Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo, everything revolved around green packaging solutions.

Last week, the industry came together at two events at the Cologne trade fair centre. At the Greener Manufacturing Show and the Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo, numerous international exhibitors showcased their solutions for sustainable and green packaging. packaging journal was there and took a closer look at some of the stands.

STI Group shows sustainable barrier coatings

The STI Group is working flat out to make fibre-based packaging even more sustainable. To this end, the company has developed a developed a water-based barrier coating that is suitable for direct food contact. is suitable. Circular economy with flexible packaging

Beverages sustainably packaged in aluminium

Exhibitors such as Bio NRW, Qwarzo, Speira, South Pole and Mondi presented a range of industrial solutions that help manufacturers improve the sustainability of their products and reduce the environmental impact of their operations.

The exhibitors were impressed by the quality of the participants and the wealth of networking opportunities, unconventional ideas and practical solutions, that were presented. They were also pleased to participate in a face-to-face event focusing on sustainability and mobilising the manufacturing sector for a green economy in this supposedly popular European business hub. The wealth of innovations presented at the Koelnmesse offered buyers a wide selection and the opportunity for exhibitors to conclude purchase agreements and partnerships.

This year 20 per cent more delegates attend the conference, This is based on the forecast of more than 500 participants in the run-up to the trade fair. With 40 per cent more visitors and exhibitors than at the last edition, the trade fair is quickly developing into a Pioneering event for a holistic approach to greener production and new ways for companies to reduce their plastic footprint.
