The company has customised, economical and sustainable drive solutions for all stages of the packaging process - primary, secondary or end-of-line packaging. These are optimally tailored to the specific requirements of all types of packaging, strapping and palletising machines and can contribute to a significant reduction in the total cost of ownership (TCO). The company offers decentralised drive electronics up to 22 kW and for the control cabinet up to 160 kW (Fig.).
End-of-line packaging is characterised by heavy loads, high forces and long travel distances. Nord has developed efficient decentralised drive solutions with frequency inverters for these applications, which provide safe regulation and motion control for heavy loads. The lean, reliable systems allow a great deal of freedom in system design and reduce installation costs.
The decentralised NordAC ON/ON+ frequency inverters are ideal for feeding and handling packaging machines thanks to their compact design. They are characterised by PLC functionality for drive-related functions (PLC onboard) and an integrated Ethernet interface. ProfiNET, EtherNET IP and EtherCAT can be switched via parameters. The NordAC Flex SK 200E frequency inverter is the most flexible of its kind from the company. Thanks to its scalable functions, it can be optimally adapted to the requirements of customers in the packaging industry. With extensive digital and analogue inputs and outputs as well as optional in/out expansion, it offers a high level of compatibility with common PLC controllers.
