Euchner GmbH & Co. KG can look back on a successful 2016 financial year: according to its own figures, the company increased its turnover by 4.5% year-on-year to 140 million euros. The signs continue to point to growth: the security technology specialist is investing at its headquarters in Leinfelden-Echterdingen and expanding significantly.

At the same time, the workforce of the medium-sized family business grew to over 700 employees worldwide. In Germany, Euchner employs 550 people - including 31 trainees and students at Stuttgart Cooperative State University. To be able to grow further invested the specialist for security technology at its headquarters in Leinfelden-Echterdingen and enlarged clearly.

Strategically into the future

The planned investment at the headquarters in Leinfelden-Echterdingen includes the construction of a new main building. Euchner is investing a total of around 20 million euros in the project. The company has already laid the foundation stone: Several plots of land have been acquired at the site. A total of 7500 m² is available for the extensions. The ground-breaking ceremony is planned for the end of 2017 or beginning of 2018. By 2019/2020, a total of 12,000 m² of office space and assembly areas are to be created.

„With the new head office building, we are laying the foundations for our future growth. We are centralising the structure and shortening the distances between departments. At the same time, we have more space for manufacturing new products,“ emphasises Stefan Euchner. The new building also houses a new Company restaurant and Seminar rooms, which are used for conferences and further training for customers and employees. The additional land also opens up the possibility of expanding the warehouse and logistics centre in the future.

Innovative products with safety

Euchner attracted great interest in 2016 with the electronic access and management system EKS, which can be used, for example, as a dialling system for selecting the operating mode of machines and systems. The focus was also on transponder-based guard locking devices such as the CTP and CET safety switches. „Our products enjoy an excellent reputation and are associated with reliability and durability in the market. In order to continue to offer our customers high-performance technologies in the future, we are continuously investing in Research and Development. More than 10% of our employees work in this area,“ explains Stefan Euchner, Managing Partner of Euchner GmbH + Co KG.

Highlights in 2016 included the successful launch of the second generation of the Safety gate protection Multifunctional Gate Box MGB2. Its modular design enables flexible adaptation to the different requirements of the respective safety gate. In the MGB2 version Modular up to six operating elements can be integrated using submodules, which can be replaced or customised at any time. It also has a bus module (MBM) with integrated PROFINET/PROFISAFE. This can either be connected directly to the MGB2 or, if space is limited, mounted remotely and connected with cables.
