Coveris is strengthening its production capacities in Central and Eastern Europe with investments totalling €1.8 million in Poland. These are intended to increase capacity and boost production speed.
In an industry where speed and flexibility are crucial, Coveris, a leading European manufacturer of flexible packaging, is making targeted investments in its Polish production facilities. With a budget of €1.8 million, the aim is to expand capacities, increase production speed, and enhance the functionality of packaging portfolios for the food, pet food, and personal care industries.
Investment in technology and capacity
The investments include the procurement of modern machinery and technologies to significantly increase production capacities. One of the key innovations is the installation of a Soma Proxima high-speed printing press. This allows wide web applications to be run at speeds of up to 400 metres per minute. As a result, Coveris can increase its capacity by approximately 30 percent per year while simultaneously ensuring faster turnaround times and consistently high print quality.
Additionally, investment was made in a Lemo pouch machine: this new production line can process up to 550 pouches per minute and uses CPP, LDPE and HDPE films. The increased capacity leads to shorter delivery times and scalable production to manage peak demand.
Improved functionality through laser technology
Another highlight of the investments is the introduction of laser scorer technology for flexible packaging formats such as stand-up and flat-bottom pouches. This technology enables precise and clean opening features that enhance consumer convenience. Particularly for brands in the food and pet food sectors, this functionality offers improved on-shelf differentiation and an enhanced user experience.
