For some time now, cigarette packets and tobacco packaging have been required to carry some drastic warnings with shock images. It is important for the manufacturers of tobacco products that the warnings are printed as required by law. EyeC, the Hamburg-based expert in printed image inspection, has introduced a new software solution for the automated inspection of tobacco and cigarette packaging.
The „EyeC Health Warning Inspection Tool“ is a key component of this software. This allows users to create merged files that contain all Warnings for the Cigarette packets and tobacco packaging. These files are then used as a reference during inspections. Health warnings from the official image libraries can be assigned to a file with packaging design patterns in this way.
Reference file contains all warnings
The Reference file is incorporated into the entire inspection process with the help of EyeC inspection systems. In prepress, the „EyeC Proofiler Graphic“ software is used to check print-ready or imposed PDF files against one or more approved templates. The „EyeC Proofiler“ checks the entire content of the proofs during and after printing.
All of the following are checked Texts and graphics as well as one-dimensional and two-dimensional codes. In the same Inspection cycle the software is also able to check the warning notices. At the same time, it inspects whether the warning notices are always changed as intended.
The software clearly displays any deviations so that users can quickly recognise errors and take appropriate action.
