Sustainable film solutions at interpack

The companies allvac and allfo are presenting sustainable film solutions and innovations from their range at interpack in Düsseldorf. One example is a 100 per cent recyclable PA/PE film for food packaging. 

allflex SR is the name of the latest development from the film specialist allvac and is a 100 per cent recyclable PA/PE film. allfo, the specialist for vacuum bags, is breaking new ground with its ECOLINE innovation. Instead of the usual 90µ ECOLINE manages with 50µ thickness and thus saves 45 per cent material compared to conventional PA/PE bags.

The film innovation allflex SR ensures 100 per cent recycling and zero waste in the food and packaging industry. The fully recyclable PA/PE film made of eleven layers is the sustainable further development of the classic allflex S film. and has the same properties as its sister film: high puncture resistance, good mouldability and it also scores points visually with its gloss and transparency. Perfect for packaging meat, sausage, fish and cheese.

The sister company allfo is just as sustainable. ECOLINE is the name of the latest bag innovation from Waltenhofen, which focusses on conserving resources. The new vacuum bag is particularly slim, namely only 50µ instead of the usual 90µ thick, thus saving 45 per cent of material compared to conventional PA/PE bags.

„We developed ECOLINE according to the motto “as thin as possible, as thick as necessary'. With 1,000 vacuum bags in a format of 200 x 300 mm, this results in a weight saving of four kilograms."

That is four kilograms of plastic that does not have to be produced, processed, recycled or disposed of. ECOLINE is in no way inferior to „classic“ vacuum bags: PA (polyamide) provides an oxygen barrier and flavour protection, PE (polyethylene) creates a Moisture barrier and good sealing properties. The resource-saving bag offers reliable protection for meat and dairy products.

In addition to the two new developments allflex SR and ECOLINE, allfo and allvac will also be showcasing their tried-and-tested solutions from the portfolio at the world's leading trade fair for the packaging industry. allfo will be exhibiting its Sealed edge, tubular, stand-up pouches and new printed vacuum bags. allvac presents its allflex UHT high-temperature composite film. It can withstand temperatures of up to +121°C and is highly transparent. The allflex E, an eleven-layer film with an EVOH high barrier, will also be on show.
