Finishing touches for the folding box from Ipuro

Some time ago, the leading German manufacturer of room fragrances, Ipuro, decided to revise its brand image. The company was looking for a partner to market the packaging of its products with a more exclusive design, both in terms of construction and appearance.

The product packaging originally consisted of a simple folding box. The question was: How could a more luxurious hard cardboard box so that it attracts more attention on the shelf? Those responsible at Ipuro contacted the Swedbrand Group, which had already developed attractive packaging for various renowned luxury brands. Together, they began to think about a solution. The special challenge that quickly crystallised was the Box height and edges out.

Ipuro was simply delighted with the new design proposal. Zaid Bunni, an expert packaging specialist and co-founder of Swedbrand 15 years ago, and the whole team worked closely with Ipuro to develop this new design. „After our customer approved the concept, we initially produced the boxes in our factory in the Far East. The next step was to consider how the Relocate production close to the German site can,“ explains Cornelia Oswald, Head of Sales at Swedbrand.

Impressively sharp edges

In 2020, Swedbrand began building a new plant in Poland, which now develops and produces special premium rigid cardboard boxes of various designs for Ipuro and other customers. „This plant offers a whole range of advantages,“ adds Oswald. „We can use the latest tetechnology and consequently set up a more automated manufacturing process that allows for a more efficient production process. high-quality packaging with impressively sharp edges.“ The machinery can even realise a box height of up to 180 millimetres.

Today, the company receives the optimised premium packaging completely from the European Swedbrand plant in Poland. The production line is equipped with long assembly lines and 14 work stations for the manual finishing steps. For example, inserts made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or plastic are embedded. With the improved processes in Poland, only ten workers are needed instead of the 150 required in the original production process. „If we had simply adopted the old processes, we would not have been able to realise the Cost expectations of Ipuro,“ explains Oswald.
