Sebastian Wolf has been responsible for the global sales and marketing division of Wolf Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH (Lich) since 2007 and has successfully managed the company's subsidiary with its own production facility in Hangzhou (China) since 2012. Following the successful market launch of a new machine model in Asia and the Middle East, his focus is now on Europe and America.
pj: Mr Wolf, what is the current focus of your company?
Sebastian Wolf: As a global manufacturer of vertical form, fill and seal machines and complete systems, our focus is naturally not just on a single area, but is very broadly diversified. The strongest market for us for more than 20 years has been Asia, There are completely different trends in terms of packaging shapes than in Europe, for example. We are particularly focussed on Significance of the new trends The aim is to categorise these developments for the future and incorporate them into the further development of our machines both in Germany and at our plant in China.
pj: What particular personal challenges did you face last year?
Sebastian Wolf: With demand for our machine models from our plant in China steadily increasing worldwide, the scope of my local activities naturally also continued to grow. Finding a balance between my presence in Germany and China was certainly the biggest challenge. I try to spend an equal amount of time at both locations, which inevitably involves a lot of hours on the plane.
pj: How do you assess the economic situation?
Sebastian Wolf: The global packaging industry has been experiencing a veritable boom for around two years. „Boom“. I am therefore very positive about the future. In the last two years, we have been able to new machine models z. For example, we are making very strong inroads into market segments in which we previously had little presence. Wolf installed over 230 vertical flow-wrapping machines at both sites combined in 2017, and the volume does not look set to decrease in 2018.
pj: What effects do you expect for Wolf packaging machines?
Sebastian Wolf: With our two production sites and the continuous further development of our machines and systems, we have the perfect mix for a very diversified and ever-growing sales market and therefore the best conditions for a secure future.
pj: What do you see as the most important tasks and trends in the industry?
Sebastian WolfThe Flexibility of packaging lines and their Automation are constantly increasing and will probably continue to be the main requirement for machine manufacturers for years to come. New packaging designs and packaging shapes require continuous further development in all areas of a packaging line.
