Sensor specialist Baumer is presenting new, smart sensor solutions for the beverage and liquid food industry at drinktec. The range of high-performance IO-Link sensors extends from goods receiving to packaging. There is great potential for savings for beverage producers in the areas of CIP and heat exchangers.
Highly accurate measured values and short reaction times significantly reduce energy and media consumption. For the CIP Baumer Hygienic sensors that precisely and quickly measure parameters such as conductivity, flow rate, temperature, fill level and pressure. The new PAC50 conductivity sensor is characterised by high performance in a very compact design and, as the „little brother“ of the proven AFI4/5, is particularly suitable for use in small production systems.
A large number of product variants and short-term changes in demand require a high degree of flexibility in the control of the systems. Baumer leads Smart sensor solutions for storage tanks for head pressure measurement, foam detection or temperature measurement, for example. Using the example of level detection, the company demonstrates how beverage producers can efficiently control processes with frequent media changes or build-up and save raw materials by precisely signalling when the tank is empty. The flexibility of the CleverLevel can be tested on site. The point level sensor Recognises different media such as sticky, pasty or solid, even when changing quickly without parameterisation.
The CombiFlow PF75 flow sensor, which has been further optimised, opens up new ways of dosing and measures the volume so quickly and accurately that it can be used for precise dosing in bottle filling, for example. A Separate level measurement is therefore superfluous.
