Stora Enso launches Trayforma BarrPeel, an easily removable cardboard material for vacuum skin packaging. The new solution is suitable for packaging fresh food. According to the company, the amount of plastic used is low. 

Trayforma BarrPeel from Stora Enso is a Sustainable barrier-coated cardboard material for pressed trays - a solution for the vacuum packaging of cold cuts, single portions of meat, fish and cheese. It consists of 90 percent from renewable wood fibres, which reduces plastic consumption to a minimum. and the CO2-footprint of the packaging is significantly reduced. Vacuum-sealed skin packaging extends the shelf life of fresh food and thus limits the environmental impact by avoiding food waste.
