Frischpack expands prepack area

The Frischpack Group is strengthening its prepack division at Baackes & Heimes. The group includes Frischpack GmbH in Mailling, Bavaria, and Baackes & Heimes GmbH in Viersen, North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Frischpack Group is strengthening its prepack division at Baackes & Heimes. The Frischpack Group includes Frischpack GmbH in Mailling, Bavaria, and Baackes & Heimes GmbH in Viersen, North Rhine-Westphalia.

In the current year, investments are being made specifically at the Viersen site. In order to meet the increased demand from discount partners for Products for the fresh food shelf the best possible service, the family-owned company is currently expanding the Prepack area. In May, a new packaging and slicing machine is installed at the cheese slicing and packaging specialist.

The Baackes & Heimes brand identity was also revised: The logo and website have been adapted to the look of Frischpack in Mailling. While the Frischpack logo symbolises a yellow slice of cheese wrapped in a green border, Baackes & Heimes has a red border around the yellow slice of cheese.

Transparency in matters of sustainability

The Mailling site has been climate-neutral since 2020 and is publishing the third sustainability report. Now this is also to be achieved for the Viersen site. To this end, Baackes & Heimes has committed to the same climate projects that Frischpack supports through Climate Partner, a certified partner in the field of climate neutrality. Both sites have been climate-neutral since the beginning of 2021. A certified energy and environmental management system in accordance with ISO 50001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 is also planned, with preparations to be finalised by the end of this year. „The first joint sustainability report for the Frischpack Group is in our sights for 2023,“ explains Dieter Baur, Managing Director Frischpack Group.
