Companies from the entire value chain of the green product range will be represented in Berlin from 7 to 9 February 2018. Last year, 3,077 exhibitors and over 76,000 visitors gained an overview of the fruit and vegetable sector.

The trade fair offers contact opportunities with the most important target groups at decision-maker level. It includes all Fresh Produce business units worldwide. It provides a complete overview of all innovations, products and services at all stages of the trade. This includes the areas of fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts and dried fruit, product packaging and labelling, transport and logistics systems as well as goods handling and storage.

Spotlight - Innovations at a glance

On the platform „Spotlight“ exhibitors can present their products and services for the first time at the leading trade fair for the international fresh produce trade free of charge. The exclusive overview is aimed specifically at trade visitors, who are thus made aware of new and further developed products, plants, processes, systems, technologies and services in an even more targeted manner.

Trend report - Developments in the future

The future prospects that the fruit trade sector can and must expect are shown in the Trend report „Fruit trade 2025“ at FRUIT LOGISTICA. The focus is on important business issues such as: „What major changes do international experts see for the fresh produce industry?“, „What issues will we be facing in ten years“ time?„ and “What innovations will customers expect?" The aim is to provide the industry with „Ideas, impulses and insights“ and to initiate a dialogue about future developments in the industry. In the run-up to the trend report, international experts from the entire value chain were interviewed.

Award-winning - top ideas with top potential

The FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award (FLIA) will be awarded for the 13th time in 2018. It has become the most important award in the entire international fruit and vegetable industry and is presented annually at the trade fair in Berlin. It recognises outstanding innovations in the entire fruit and vegetable supply chain, from production to PoS. Innovations can be products, services or technical innovations.

The organisers are Messe Berlin and „Fruchthandel Magazin“. All exhibitors at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2018 and their co-exhibitors were eligible to participate. The ten best innovations selected by a jury and nominated for the FLIA 2018 will be presented. The Winner of the FLIA 2018 is determined by the trade visitors to the fair.

Products from the Packaging and labelling area were nominated for the award. These include the Wasabi-Giftbox from the Dutch company East4Fresh -Color2Food and the Grass Paper-Greenliner from Papierfabrik Scheufelen. This packaging material is made from up to 50 per cent fresh grass fibres. The compostable bag „Ulti-Mite Swirski“ from the Dutch company Koppert Biological System was also nominated. Last but not least, „LogoFrucht“ made it onto the list of award-worthy ideas. Under this title, the company „Kellermeister Manns“ has developed a process for printing any fruit and vegetables.

The Organic and Convenience Routes are a suggestion for trade visitors to reach suppliers from selected sectors quickly, directly and unerringly at the trade fair. The exhibitors of certified organic products and fresh convenience products are highlighted by a characteristic route symbol, which is both a signal and a signpost[/infotext].
