The spirits manufacturer Bacardi has redesigned its premium gift packs and reduced packaging waste by a quarter. The company wants to become the most environmentally friendly global spirits company.

Bacardi, one of the largest family-run global spirits companies, is presenting its Grey Goose vodka and non-alcoholic Martini in a new, intelligent gift design for Christmas, reducing cardboard waste by 25 per cent. Both products are available as a premium gift exclusively on Amazon and can be sent to online shoppers without additional packaging.

Start towards more sustainability

The Christmas editions are part of Bacardi's commitment to sustainability, which is backed by the ambitious goal of becoming the most environmentally friendly spirits company in the world. Bacardi is making the packaging change in a year in which global online sales of spirits have skyrocketed.

In Germany, 31 % of Bacardi customers ordered drinks online this summer. Bacardi is now the first spirits company to offer drinks in lightweight, waste-reduced packaging via Amazon in Germany, the UK, France and Italy. The aim is to protect the environment and further accelerate sales in e-commerce.
