glasstec 2022 starts

glasstec starts in Düsseldorf. Until 23 September, 940 exhibitors will be presenting innovations and solutions on the industry's trending topics.

The leading international trade fair for the glass industry starts today in Düsseldorf. Until 23 September, around 940 exhibitors will be presenting innovations, trends and solutions, accompanied by a supporting programme of science and practice.

The global trend topics in particular Climate protection, resource efficiency, urbanisation, sustainable value creation and well-being are also occupying the industry at the trade fair. Expertise from theory and practice will therefore come together in Hall 11. Visitors can find out about the latest developments and trends in the daily presentations on glass production, glass processing and finishing as well as glass products and applications.

A traditional part of the supporting programme is the International Architecture Congress. In the programme, eight representatives from renowned architecture and engineering firms who are pioneers in planning and building with glass will present their exciting topics. Among other things, the programme will discuss which Glass façades contribute to independence from fossil resources and to people's well-being in an increasingly warm climate and what technical and design potential glass offers in architecture today. The congress is recognised by the Chamber of Architects of North Rhine-Westphalia as an advanced training event for the fields of architecture and interior design.

The Special area Handwerk Live in Hall 10 this year will once again be showing the top innovations for the Glass processing craft in practical application. This year's motto is: World Championship of Skills. At WorldSkills Germany@glasstec, young glaziers from all over Germany will compete against each other and measure their skills in the field of glass construction technology. The winner of this qualification competition will secure a place at EuroSkills 2023 in Poland. The five participants from Germany have already been finalised. Three further starting places will be filled by international participants by 20 September.
