
The German Energy Agency (dena) supports companies in the plastics industry in saving CO2. In the guide „Systematically increasing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions in the plastics industry“, the agency provides tips and information on technical retrofitting and funding opportunities, among other things.
In order to present technical possibilities and potential in the plastics industry as professionally and sector-specifically as possible, dena has developed the guide in coordination with the General Association of the Plastics Processing Industry (GKV) and the IK Industrial Association for Plastic Packaging developed. The Insights gained from the collaboration with plastics associations and from the „Practical workshop for the plastics industry“ have also been incorporated into the guidelines.
The aim is to systematically Evaluate potentials and challenges, utilise innovations and proven solutions and work together to set the course towards climate neutrality. This guide provides an overview and orientation to help you make the right decisions.
Measures to save energy and resources
The publication is part of the Project “Lighthouses CO2-Savings in the industry”, that the dena on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK). In the project, dena shows Ways to achieve greater energy efficiency and CO2-reduction in four key sectors including the plastics industry. They follow the principle of „Efficiency First“ and focus on measures to save energy and resources, which also increase competitiveness. Particular attention is paid to the BMWK's funding programmes, which offer companies financial support.
