Heidelberg is using artificial intelligence to boost overall performance in print shops. The Performance Advisor Technology AI tool provides contract customers with specific and easy-to-implement instructions.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) will also become increasingly important in the print media industry over the next few years, driving forward automation in print shops and establishing new digital business models in the market. With its Performance Advisor Technology (PAT) now has an AI-supported tool for process consulting that offers contract customers Automates concrete and easy-to-implement instructions for action that serve to improve their operating processes.

To this end, the Heidelberg Cloud, which comprises a database of more than 13,000 connected machines and information on over 60 million setup processes, will be expanded to include a module with artificial intelligence supplemented. The module monitors measurement series on the current performance of the Heidelberg machines, visualises performance anomalies and shows the customer various recommendations for action.

In addition, PAT gives the customer a better understanding of the meaning of the individual performance indicators. A Expansion of PAT to include benchmarking of Heidelberg machines parallel with an anonymised comparison group from the Heidelberg Cloud is already being planned.

The Heidelberg Assistant (HDA) offers customers intuitive access to the AI services from the Heidelberg Cloud. The customer is free to decide for themselves which suggestions to implement and when. Each time the suggestions are implemented, the AI module learns something new about the effectiveness of the measures and adapts future recommendations to the experience gained. PAT stands for all HDA users with immediate effect in a freemium version available.
