Laminate tube Platina Pro 250

In search of a resource-saving packaging solution for the new products Fruit Up and Würz Wunder sas for the classics from the Spiced ketchuprange, Hela has opted for the Platina Pro 250 tube from EPL. The laminate tube has a diameter of 40 mm. The Platina material used is a development by EPL Ltd. and Fully recyclable. Through a Extremely high oxygen barrier, which comes close to conventional ABL laminates (aluminium barrier), EPL has succeeded in packaging a difficult product from the food sector in an optimal, odourless and safe way.

„With this tube, we have succeeded in harmonising Hela's customer requirements in terms of sustainability. Both companies are emphasising their focus on sustainable product solutions of the highest quality.“ Thomas Holling, New Product Development Manager Europe EPL Ltd. Europe

The production of this tube is very demanding, as all the necessary barrier properties must be fulfilled over the entire life cycle. In addition, the tube must return to its original shape after each use. The shoulder material is made of HDPE. The Platina tubes from EPL are RecyClass-certified and from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) authorised for recycling.

Focus on a sustainable solution

Hela opted for modern and familiar designs when developing the new artwork. In the end, the company decided in favour of a Flexo printing with nine colours and a matt varnish was chosen. Further finishing options, such as an embossing foil, were consistently omitted in the interests of sustainability.

„We at Hela are proud to be making further progress towards sustainability in collaboration with EPL by using this new type of packaging,“ says Joana Schöning, Product Manager/Marketing at Hela.
