Hexcelpack launches Hexcel'ope, an innovative, 100 per cent paper-based shipping carton. Hexcel'ope has been developed as a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to the traditional plastic bubble wrap commonly used throughout the e-commerce supply chain. The new packaging is fully recyclable and biodegradable.
Lightweight, robust and easy to use: Hexcel'ope Mailer is designed with Hexcelpacks slit paper technology for ultimate cushioning and maximum protection of the product during transport. The process converts stretchable paper into a three-dimensional, patented cushioning product around. To do this, precise cuts are made at specific angles. This method makes the paper „flexible“, increases its volume and at the same time maximises the strength and stiffness of the fibres. The result is a superior cushion that has been proven to outperform environmentally harmful protection alternatives, especially plastic-based bubble wrap.
Advantages outweigh disadvantages
Hexcel'ope shipping packaging is economical and effective. Strong and durable, the packaging offers cushioning and ensure product protection, required for shipping fragile items and reducing product damage.
Sustainability also played an important role in the development process. The shipping packaging is completely paper-based and are made from 100 per cent Canadian paper from the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). The programme stands for exemplary sustainability and little to no impact on the environment. Hexcel'ope offers protection that has been proven to outperform plastic bubbles from conventional shipping packaging. In contrast to single-use plastic bubble wrap the paper used for the production of Hexcel'ope is fully recyclable and biodegradable.
