Packaging machine specialist Hugo Beck is expanding its portfolio of solutions with a new horizontal flowpack machine in hygienic design. The flowpack R has a particularly compact design and achieves packaging speeds of up to 300 cycles per minute.

The flowpack machine is suitable for many packaging applications in the fresh and frozen food sector. In view of increasingly stringent food hygiene standards the company has focussed on developing a machine that is particularly easy to clean and access and can be quickly adapted to different product lines.

Stainless steel surfaces for food contact

All surfaces that may come into contact with products are made of stainless steel with a surface roughness of ≤ 0.8 µm and all materials used are approved for contact with food. By avoiding angles and hard-to-reach areas in the design, which usually promote the formation of dirt pockets, the machine manufacturer was able to Further reduce hygiene risks. Overall, this also simplifies cleaning. .

The flowpack R is designed as a balcony construction with high ground clearance, so that Wet cleaning at any time can be carried out. The bevelled stainless steel elements allow liquids and soiling to run off or be removed easily.

Even more powerful machines in planning

High speeds and flexibility are further key features of the flowpack R. The machine is equipped with a rotating transverse welding unit and achieves Up to 150 cycles per minute as standard, up to 300 cycles per minute as an option. More powerful machines are also being planned for applications with up to 700 cycles per minute enable.

„Hygienic design is an essential requirement for many packaging applications in the food sector. When you also consider the need to pack a wide range of products quickly and flexibly, our new flowpack R machines are ideal for achieving optimum packaging results at high speeds in production environments with strict hygiene requirements.“ Timo KollmannSales Manager at Hugo Beck.

The flowpack machines are equipped with an intuitive touchscreen. With their easily interchangeable mould shoulders and tool-free operation, changeover times are significantly reduced, which further increases the flexibility of the production lines.

Hygienic Design offers safety for food packaging

The balcony construction method means a Strict separation of drive technology and product transport area, The drives and toothed belts are located at the rear. The control cabinet is also located at the rear of the machine. This reduces cable lengths and distances and also enables more effective wet cleaning and the removal of possible dirt pockets.

With its compact design, the flowpack R has a space-saving construction and can be easily integrated into existing lines. This makes it ideal for packaging fruit and vegetables, sausage and meat products as well as cheese and dairy products. Frozen products, confectionery and baked goods can also be packed quickly and securely, whether individually or in packs.

Depending on the intended use, each machine is therefore Optionally expandable with various handling systems, such as cascade conveyors, and robot systems for inserting, stacking and grouping the products to be packaged.
