Illig is a new addition to Packaging Valley

Packaging Valley has a new member: Illig Maschinenbau has joined the packaging industry cluster and is now networked with over 100 companies from the sector.

Packaging Valley Germany e.V. has had a new member since 1 January 2022. Illig Maschinenbau joined the packaging industry cluster, which is made up of over 100 companies and more than 30,000 employees from the fields of packaging systems, machines, software and automation solutions.

The companies in the Packaging Valley offer the market the best technologies in the field of packaging machines. With an export share of over 80 per cent, the variety of technologies from the Packaging Valley represented all over the world. Its customers include international market leaders in the food, beverage, confectionery, pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.

Commitment to the circular economy

Illig is active around the globe with its own subsidiaries and trading partners. The family-owned company offers its customers innovative, economical and high-performance systems for Realisation of resource-efficient and sustainable solutions made of cardboard, paper and plastic. With „Circular Thinking!“, the machine and tool manufacturer bundles many years of technical expertise in the development of sustainable systems and supports packaging manufacturers in the design of recyclable applications with the comprehensive packaging development „Pactivity 360“.

„Circular Thinking!“ Solutions support the circular economy and clearly follow the Sustainability goals Reduce, reuse, separate, recycle and renew. Illig has already been honoured for its sustainable solutions: in 2021 with the „German Packaging Award“, the „European Carton Excellence Award“ and the „World Star Global Packaging Award“. One of the other „Circular Thinking!“ projects from Illig is the Industrial production of packaging made from thermoformable paper.
