At this year's drinktec, Aptar Food will be presenting sustainable and innovative closure solutions for the beverage industry. These include solutions for various containers, from rigid containers to flexible pouch packaging. The company will also be presenting an innovative tethered cap.
On the drinktec becomes Aptar The company's drive for greater sustainability through new innovative products such as tethered caps and recyclable linerless closure solutions, through certifications such as ISCC+ and through partnerships with PureCycle, REBO and MIWA, among others, as well as through the active promotion of sustainability. Cooperation with important organisations, such as RecyClass, WRAP, APR and WBCSD.
The company will also be presenting its next-generation sports fastener at the trade fair under the name „Rocket“. This Lid permanently attached to the bottle sets new standards for non-removable tamper-evident protection with a wide opening angle for more comfort when drinking. Rocket fulfils the requirements of the EU directive on single-use plastic articles for caps permanently attached to the bottle („tethered caps“), which is due to come into force in mid-2024.
Focus on sustainability
With SimpliCycle, the company presents a recyclable valve that puts sustainability at the centre of packaging innovation. As the valve is made of a material with a lower density, it floats on top in the recycling tank and can be easily removed from the PET stream and then recycled together with the PP/PE material. When the SimpliCycle TPE valve is installed in an Aptar closure, the customer receives a fully recyclable closure. Recyclable and high-performance solution for use in PET, PE and PP containers. SimpliCycle was recently recognised as the best CSR/sustainability initiative of 2021 at the World Food Innovation Awards. This year, the product received the prestigious 2022 WorldStar Global Packaging Award for packaging innovation.
The company will also be presenting completely new concepts for pouring beverages at drinktec 2022. These will include a prototype of the new Blue EVO Cap and Solutions for dispensing beverages in a stand cap format.
